School Council
The purpose of the School Council is to represent the views and opinions of the pupils at St. Patrick’s School.
St. Patrick’s school council is made up of two elected representatives from each of Years 1 – 6. At the beginning of the school year each class will discuss the qualities needed to be an effective school council representative and the interested children write their manifestos. They then present their manifestos to their class and on an agreed date the children vote. The boy and girl with the most votes in each class is duly elected.
Miss Franco supports the school council and will meet with them twice per term, and at other times when they are called upon for their support. Items discussed may include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events. Members of the council will then be responsible for feeding back to their classes and carrying out ideas that they have agreed. If you have any suggestions that our school council members can be working on, please do let us know.
Visitors to the school are shown around by members of the council.
