Mental Health Awareness Week
Dear Parents and Children,
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and to celebrate this year the theme is focused on: Kindness. Therefore, we thought it would be a good idea for us to collect and gather from all of you the kind things that you have done during the lockdown period. This also links to our virtue of: Charity. You can share them via Class Dojo or send your work into firstname.lastname@example.org.
We cannot wait to see what you have done.
The October Gallery (who we work closely with) is excited to announce our '10 x 10 Apart Together' project.
Inspired by the work of El Anatsui and created by artist Esther Adesigbin and the OG Education, our new '10x10 Apart Together' project hopes to bring people together in each creating a special ‘art’ square. When your square is finished it will be linked together with all the others to make an impressive art piece that celebrates our community staying safe by staying home.
Squares made by people from across our community - from primary students to professional artists - will be alongside each other and displayed in the October Gallery as a celebration of coming together through adversity.
You can send me your squares by dropping them off in an envelope for Miss Cosh. I can send them onto the Gallery or you can wait until we return back to school.
Each individual can make as many squares as you like 10cmx10cm square in any material that you have at home, inspired by an October Gallery artist.
I can't wait to see what you come up with - please let me know if you have any questions.
